How Reiki can help your pet

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports emotional and physical well-being. While Reiki is not a substitute for veterinary care, it can complement traditional treatments.

  • Emotional support: can help alleviate stress, anxiety, and emotional discomfort.
  • Physical comfort: may provide relief from aches and pains.
  • Support in transition: can offer comfort to animals nearing the end of their lives or those recovering from surgery.
  • Deepened bond: fosters a stronger, more harmonious connection between the animal and its human.
  • Holistic well-being: supports your animal's overall health and well-being on a spiritual, emotional, and physical level.

What a session looks like

I come to your residence. A calm, quiet space with a door is best.

I play calming music at a low volume. I sit on the floor to allow the animal to approach voluntarily. Physical contact is never initiated by me. If the animal chooses to come close, I may place my hands on “safe” areas — never on or near wounds or sore areas. Reiki energy flows where it is needed, whether hands are used or not.

Your pet is always in charge

The session starts when the Reiki treatment starts (after mutual trust has been established). I feel 15 minutes is sufficient time for trust to be built. If trust doesn't happen in 15 minutes or so, we may have to cancel the session. No charge for the treatment, but a $5 fee will be charged for my travel expenses.

Why I offer Pet Reiki

CiCi's story

CiCi was diagnosed with renal failure in 2021 at just 8 years old. After her diagnosis, and alongside her veterinary care, I began feeding her prescription kidney-support food and giving her a professional-grade kidney milieu regularly.

In the spring of 2024, while stroking her incredibly soft coat, I discovered large lumps along her trachea. The veterinarian confirmed it was lymphoma. I immediately began offering CiCi Reiki energy treatments to support her well-being and comfort throughout her medical care. Our veterinarian has been happy — and honestly quite surprised — at how bright, stable, and vibrant CiCi has continued to look.

As of January 31, 2026, at 13 years young, I'm thrilled to share that her enlarged lymph nodes have not returned, and CiCi is truly thriving. She's talkative, playful, engaged, and full of her beautiful spirit.

Questions & answers

How does Reiki benefit my pet?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and supports emotional and physical well-being. While Reiki is not a substitute for veterinary care, it can complement traditional treatments.

Important: Reiki is intended to be used in conjunction with, not as a replacement for, veterinary care. It is not a cure for specific medical conditions but rather a supportive therapy that promotes peace and balance.

What if I want a session for more than one pet?

Each pet gets their own individual treatment. I am happy to book back-to-back Reiki sessions for two pets under one travel expense fee ($5 within a 15-mile radius from me).

If you have 3 or more pets for whom you want a session, please contact me directly.

What if my pet doesn't cooperate?

Your pet is always in charge.

What should I expect after a session?

Right after a session, pets often feel very calm, peaceful, or sleepy. They may yawn, stretch, sigh, or shake off tension. It is common for pets to walk away when they have received enough energy, often seeking a quiet place to rest.

Over the next one to three days you may notice less nervousness or unwanted behavior, and more energy and a brighter mood. While rare in animals, some may have brief, mild reactions such as slight tiredness or digestive changes. A short period of restlessness may also occur as they adjust.

Every animal is different; some may not show obvious, immediate changes. Please watch for your pet's unique reaction and make sure they have access to water.

How many sessions does it take?

One session can bring noticeable calm and relaxation, but it isn't always enough for long-term or deep-seated issues.

  • Minor or recent issues (a move, temporary anxiety): one or two sessions may be enough.
  • Chronic or serious conditions: a series of sessions, commonly 3 to 5, often helps most.
  • Ongoing well-being: regular sessions can help maintain balance, particularly as pets age.

If multiple sessions are needed, they are usually scheduled 2–3 times a week, depending on your animal. Please consult your veterinarian for any medical conditions.
